After her highschool graduation and a year abroad (France and USA) she studied architecture in Graz (1996-2008). She started her snowboard career at the age of 20 during her time as a snowboard instructor together with Cri in Obertauern. With Cri as her trainer she won everything that could be won in Boardercross from 1996 to 2002: 1x European Champion, 2x Worldchampion, 2x Vice World Champion, 1x US-Open, 1x X-Games, 1x Overall World Cup.

With the end of the ISF (International Snowboard Federation) she said goodbye to competition and focused on her studies she completed in 2008 after a very fun internship at „Mack Architects“ in Venice in 2005-06.

Her love to fashion design is probably in the genes. Her grandma was a seamstress and numerous summer vacations at her home in Eferding, Upper Austria, which amongst her love for design nurtured the fascination for this craftsmanship, lead to complete a qualification in fashiondesign. The first two years, while still studying, as the headdesigner at Avalon (now AiNWEAR) were a phase of „learning by doing“ but she soon realized that without the proper qualification transforming a design idea into a pattern for production was limited. From 2008 to 2010 she completed the College for Fashiondesign in Graz.

Together with Cri she also fell for surfing and Bali is now their second home, where they surf and produce AiNWEAR together in a little family business. The design process  happens mainly at home in Graz, where patterns are made and the first samples are manufactured.  The focus of the designs lies in the sectioning and the little details which differentiate AiNWEAR from the other brands. AiNWEAR combines sporty streetwear with fashion design. Print and embroidery motives mainly come from Ine’s creative fundus. The choice of colors and fabrics happens in Bali where local shops supply the materials.

Next to surfing in summer and snowboarding, splitboard-hiking and from time to time also skiing with wide powder skis in winter, Ine loves mountain hiking, yoga, ballett and roadbiking but also the good old „fare niente“ (italian for: doing nothing).

CRI

Born and raised in Leoben, Austria, during his childhood he  was an affectionate and in tournaments successful BMX racer and Judofighter. In 1987 he was one of the first in Austria to snowboard with incredibly huge talent and feeling for movement and especially movment on a board. In 1992 he started out from his new homebase Graz as a snowboard instructor and spent every winter in the snow. Moving on to competitions in 1994 BoardercrossÒ was the only interesting discipline back then for there were no Halfpipes or Snowparks anywhere around. From the beginning on as an absolute Noname he earned his respect from all the pros. Aside from competing in snowboarding he completed the certified Snowboardtrainer program and worked shorttime in snowboard teacher training. Numerous ISF-worldcup wins and two 4th places at the X-Games he can enter at the credit side.

Into surfing he came in 1998 together with Rudi Hajek on his first journey to Bali, but the surffever didn’t infect him until 2003 on a very relaxed trip (his honeymoon) to Portugal. Since then you can find him on the waves of Bali for two months a year where he produces the clothing label AiNWEAR, former Avalon, since 2007.

Since the winter of 2002/03, after his career as a snowboardpro which ended together with the bancrupsy of the ISF (International Snowboard Federation), he acts as the creative head and in the beginning also acting out part of the „Longplaypark“ (a snowpark in Obertauern, Salzburg). But still not enough: since 2004 Cri works in marketing for Atomic Snowboard and Freeskiing.

His excitement for bikesports never disappeared; already whilst his snowboard competition time and up until now in his freetime you see him on a bike: Downhill, Hardtail, from time to time also BMX and his newest obsession: Roadbiking, those are his passions he spends every free minute with. Wintersports is still important though now the focus lies in splitboard hiking and the thrill of untracked powder.

For AiNWEAR he programs the website, organizes photoshoots and brings all the creative input that`s so important outside the actual fashiondesign process.

Why AiN?

We used to call our brand „Avalon“, the mystical island you are only allowed to enter if you still believe in natures powers and live along with nature without destroying it. Thats how we try to live and what we try to pass on to people around us.

Now we are AiN: which can mean different things: „Avalon is New“, „Am I Nuts“? or just simply another word for OWN (AiN in scottish): AiN is our OWN: our own style, our own thing, our own design, our own...
